Can Drainage be the Key to the Fountain of Youth? by Dr's Mary Ann and Gene Teel
The most underrated system in the human body is our lymphatic system, our secondary circulatory system. When the lymphatic system operates properly, it aids in cellular repair, cleans out all the tissues, and removes toxins. If it’s stopped up, the infection fighting material is prevented from attacking germs and the elements that nourish each cell cannot reach the blood. Think of it this way: If the garbage men go on strike, and there is no resolution, the trash will stop up an entire city. The same thing happens with the environmental toxins trapped in our body.
Dr. Alexis Carrel, of the Rockefeller Institute, who won the 1912 Nobel Prize, kept a piece of heart tissue from a chicken alive for twenty-nine years. He was able to demonstrate that a cell or tissue could go on living BUT, only if it had the proper cleansing of waste products.
As we get older we accumulate more and more toxins in our bodies. These toxins tend to settle in our various organs, muscles, joints and digestive tract. This promotes dysfunction in our Autonomic Nervous System, which controls all of our bodily functions. For example, an accumulation of toxins in the digestive tract can cause damage to the gut lining, making it porous and allowing undigested food and harmful microbes to pass into the blood stream. This can agitate the immune system, causing food allergies. If toxins accumulate in the ovaries, it can cause hot flashes; if they accumulate in the lungs, it can cause bronchitis; if in the joints, Rheumatoid Arthritis – and the list goes on.
Contrary to what we may think, bacteria and viruses perform a service. They are nature’s way of eliminating toxins. Their purpose is to get rid of unviable material in our bodies. When we have waste in our bodies, these germs will flourish and multiply to help break down and get rid of this waste material by diarrhea and mucous. By increasing the flow of toxins out of the body, drainage prevents an organ from deteriorating in function. Once an organ deteriorates, it can be a breeding ground for germs. For example, do you ever notice how quickly a bruised apple rots? That is because germs are doing what nature intended them to do, which is to break down unviable tissue. Unfortunately, because the skin of the apple has been damaged, the overall health of the apple has been diminished, so germs will break down the whole apple. The same thing occurs with a poorly functioning human organ, the germs proceed to break down even the healthy tissue.
The human body spends a lot of time and energy on drainage. The environment accounts for some of these wastes such as pollen, parasites, fragrances in our soap and detergent, additives in our cleaning products, inorganic metals and chemicals in our water. Then there are wastes that we consume, such as undigested food, food coloring, excess gluten and residues from prescription drugs. Plus, the body must process the waste from all the body’s natural processes such as molecules left over from the production of hormones, protein metabolism, immune function, digestion, etc. The only way to keep these stressors at bay and prevent disease from setting in (from accumulated toxins) is to ensure a proper balance of drainage.
The body uses various methods to drain waste products out of our bodies to avoid the debilitating consequences of toxic accumulation. The skin, lungs, bowels and kidneys – are all organs of drainage. So what can you do to support them? Drink plenty of water. Walking stimulates bowel function. Exercise works up a good sweat. And, some breathing exercises also stimulate lymphatic flow. But sometimes, supplementation is necessary to overcome a sluggish body too overfilled with toxins to naturally rid the body of all of the toxic stressors. In our practice, we always check any dysfunctional organs to see if they need additional drainage. No matter what organ or area of the body is ailing, we test for the exact drainage products and the precise amount needed for the problem you are facing.
If you are standing on a nail, it’s going to hurt. Traditional medicine will steer you to pain relievers so that standing on a nail will be painless and antibiotics will keep it from getting infected. But, then your problem never goes away. If the figurative “nail” YOU are standing on… that problem that is keeping you sick and tired… comes from toxins, the only way to end your suffering permanently is to remove the “nail” (...those accumulated toxins…) with proper drainage.
Can I get good nutrition from the food I eat?
Food now does not resemble what was produced 100 years ago. It's difficult to find "foods" that have not been grown in nutrient depleted soil, genetically modified, added growth hormones, pesticides, etc. Even fruit has been bred to have a sky-high sugar content. As a result, various organs may be lacking key nutrients to function well, causing allergies, digestive problems, fatigue, etc.
Aluminum Poisoning:
Avoid drinks in aluminum cans. Acid products like soda can leach aluminum into the drink. Aluminum and other metals may lodge in the brain. Metals in the brain have been linked to Altzheimers, Bipolar Disorder, Autism, etc. Cooking in aluminum pans and aluminum foil are also not advised for the same reason. Heat can also cause the aluminum to leach out into your food.
Avoid Artificial Sweeteners: This information is from "The Book of Health" by Susan Stockton.
Aspartame (Nutrasweet and Equal) is composed of two amino acids, phenylalinine annd aspartic acid. It is 200 times sweeter than sugar, though it has the same amount of calories. Its use has been implecated in numerous disorders ranging from nausea and headaches to seizures, rashes, blindness and brain damage.
Saccharin is a non-caloric petroleum derivative. It is 300-500 times sweeter than sugar. It is not absorbed by the body, but has been linked with bladder cancer in laboratory animals.
Chemical Poisoning from Dry Cleaning:
Avoid dry cleaning your clothing, but if you must, let it air out several days before bringing inside your house. Dry cleaning chemicals can seep through the skin or breathed in.
Electromagnetic Pollution: This information is from "The Book of Health" by Susan Stockton.
We live in a virtual sea of electromagnetic pollution with all manner of radiation being emitted from such sources as video display terminals, microwave ovens, hair dryers, electric blankets, beepers, water beds, dish washers, coffee makers, televisions, cell phones, medical diagnostic equipment, etc. To gauge the effects of 60 cycle current, hold a switched-on hair dryer in one hand and have someone muscle test the other arm. In all probability, with muscle will weaken, demonstrating the short circuit created in your body by the incompatible frequency. Our 60 cycle household current can have detrimental effects on living organisms. Limit use of these items or keep your distance when running the dishwasher, coffee maker, etc.
